For our final project, we have to design a kitchen using CAD software. I am excited about this project because this is the first time we have gotten to draw something on CAD that is from our imaginations. The inspiration for my kitchen was from the home of a family I used to nanny for. I loved the functionality and simplicity of their kitchen. It was so easy to clean and really beautiful. We also went to Marsh Showroom to see some ideas for kitchen cabinets, counter tops, layouts and such. I got a few pictures from Marsh Showroom of things that I thought were nice ideas or just aesthetically pleasing as well as functional. I believe functionality is very important in a kitchen. The kitchen can be used as a hang out spot, but also where meals are prepared! I wanted my kitchen to have plenty of seating and space for storage. My favorite aspect of the kitchen I am designing is the island. I made it big enough to seat four! I envision this being the place that kids would come home and do their homework at and have an afternoon snack. I added a big window that overlooks the yard above the sink. I believe this really brightens up the space and adds some natural lighting. I am adding upper and lower cabinets, pull out drawers, as well as a big farmhouse sink. The cabinet style I'm going with is inset cabinet doors. I look forward to seeing this project come together. Here are a few photos from Marsh Cabinets.
